Michael Harrison
Michael (Mike) is a pharmaceutical engineering professional with over 22 years’ experience in the bioprocessing and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries. His professional experience spans GMP manufacturing, food processing, process development, data handling, GMP documentation and process safety.
Mike holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering and Bachelor Degrees in Chemical Engineering and Science. He has worked on numerous biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes specialising in extraction, separation and purification processes from laboratory/development scale to commercial scale. With a proven track record of developing and optimising chemical and pharmaceutical processes to improve both yields and product quality, he has helped companies reduce manufacturing costs.
Mike’s key competencies include:
- Extensive experience in isolation and purification of biological and inorganic compounds.
- Experienced in managing manufacturing-related process optimisation and commercialisation projects using design of experiments and six sigma methodologies to improve both process yields and product quality.
- Strong knowledge in quality control, including requirements for analytical equipment validation, analytical method validation and general compliance requirements of QC to GLP and GMP standards.
- Experienced in statistical discovery and analysis software including SAS JMP, Minitab and the R programming language.
- Highly proficient in creation of and training in GMP manufacturing documents including batch manufacturing records, standard operating procedures and equipment instructions.
- Extensive experience in creation and execution of validation protocols and writing validation reports to support equipment qualification and process and cleaning validation activities.
